The FallsAt 188 feet high and 2200 feet across, Horseshoe Falls is a remarkable sight. There are so many viewing spots to see the approximate 5 million cubic feet of water cascading down that you will want to view the Falls at all angles. Picture taking is perfect here because there will not be a “bad” picture in the bunch. Not only deemed the “Honeymoon Capital of the World”, but also a popular romantic hideaway, many hotels offer Falls side views to be seen from your balcony. Skylon Tower, a revolving restaurant that stands 775 feet above the falls, is another great viewing area. Nighttime Falls viewing offers a special treat as that is when the Falls are illuminated with the colors of the rainbow. Various times of the year offers fireworks displayed over the Falls. From November to January, there is the beautiful “Winter Festival of Lights” fireworks display. Clifton HillRight across from the Falls lies the hustling and bustling activity of Clifton Hill. This street is lined with all kinds of entertainment and activity. Museums of various types including wax museums, Ripley’s, and Guinness, shops, food vendors, miniature golf and so much more. Did I mention the Sky Wheel? The Sky Wheel is an enclosed ferris wheel that stands 175 feet tall and yet another way to satisfy your viewing pleasure. Picture taking opportunities are, again, abundant on Clifton Hill so keep those cameras charged up and ready to go. If this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip here you will want to visit everything at least once. MarinelandBeluga whales, sea lions, dolphins and other great sea life are home to Marineland. Shows are offered daily exhibiting the talents of these great sea creatures. It will surely amaze and entertain your family. This park also offers rides and other animal viewing observation such as elk, bear, deer, and more. There is a lot of walking involved, but it is well worth it. EntertainmentWith a couple of casinos and plenty of nightclubs in the area, the activity does not stop there. After you have visited the Falls, Clifton Hill, and Marineland with the younger ones you just might have enough energy to capture some of the evening extravaganza of Niagara Falls. If you do plan to visit Niagara Falls, you will need to stay approximately three days to see everything. Living just a couple hours away, I am partial to Niagara Falls and have been there many times. Even so, it never ceases to amaze me just how beautiful it is. Each time that I visit is just as spectacular as the very first time.
