The Warmth of a Stranger
Written by Angel Lynn Diamond on Friday, 17 October 2008

We are often surprised nowadays by a simple act of kindness from a stranger.  Is that what it has come to? Our world, with its violence and hatred revealing itself in so many ways, is in a downward spiral.  This should be a wake up call to everyone.  Should we be so surprised at this?  I would like to say the answer to that is no, but I cannot.

Rachel's Challenge
Written by Jennilyn McKinnon on Wednesday, 08 October 2008

Have you ever wondered how to have an impact on the world? What could you do that would be so great, it would influence millions? Last night I sat in an auditorium and learned the secrets to changing the world. They are simple and profound. Even you can do them...

Creating Our Lives Through Prayer
Written by Jennilyn McKinnon on Sunday, 05 October 2008

If the statement "all things are created spiritually before they are created physically" is true, then how does one create what they want spiritually?  Knowing how to create in the conscious mind what we want spiritually allows us to manifest quicker what we want physcically. This applies to our emotional state of mind as well as the physcical object we ultimately desire. When we create in our minds and hearts through prayer we unlock the spiritual world within us.

Right On, Target
Written by Gina Blitstein on Sunday, 21 September 2008
Recently I noticed that Target Stores were running a series of commercials “targeted” toward helping consumers cope with the challenging state of our economy. This made me think about how we may be closer than we think about attaining our own personal goals.  The key is now we define, or redefine, them.

Speed Cleaning
Written by Lucinda Watrous on Tuesday, 16 September 2008
It happens to all of us.  You are in the middle of something, and the kids are tearing the house apart as you are working.  Everything is fine, because you can clean it up later when they go to bed and you are done working.  Well, at least you think it is, until the phone rings and unexpected guests say they are in the area and would like to stop by in half an hour.  Relax!  You can speed clean the house in 30 minutes or less.

The Worry List
Written by Gina Blitstein on Friday, 12 September 2008

If, according to the movie, a “bucket list” is a list of things you want to do before you “kick the bucket,” then I propose that a “worry list” is a list of things that you worry about. I think that compiling a worry list for ourselves is a good idea.

Here’s why…

I’m An Autumn
Written by Gina Blitstein on Wednesday, 10 September 2008

Trees in AutumnI feel a distinct coolness in the air today. Maybe it is too early to hope for a permanent end to our sweltering Midwestern Summer, but  it’s pleasant to ponder the possibility… That crisp, invigorating air of Autumn always awakens my senses, making me feel more alive and ambitious than at any other time of the year.

Recapturing Our Inner Ballerina
Written by Gina Blitstein on Monday, 08 September 2008

As little girls many of us dreamed of being ballerinas. Not only did we dream it, but in our minds we were ballerinas…we could see ourselves on the stage with our inner eye and feel the delight of living our heart’s desire.

She loves to write about the great delight, wonder and sometimes frustration she experiences in her life's journey. She shares her insights about it all on her blog,

Laughter is the Best Medicine
Written by Gina Blitstein on Monday, 08 September 2008

I recently read that actress Christina Applegate has been battling breast cancer. After being diagnosed with the disease, rather than radiation or chemotherapy, she chose to undergo a double mastectomy. Her decision was based on the fact that her mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor and that she herself tested positive for the breast cancer gene. After getting through her ordeal, she also found humor in the situation.

The Disease of Old Age
Written by Gina Blitstein on Monday, 08 September 2008

Everywhere I look I am bombarded by the messages  –  A woman must appear flawless to be attractive. Natural aging is my sworn enemy!

It’s not news that humans are vain to one extent or another, but enough is enough! Seriously, do we really have time in our full and busy lives to worry about a wrinkle or a sag?

Missed My Calling?
Written by Gina Blitstein on Monday, 08 September 2008
My entire working life has been spent as owner and operator of my own home-based child care business. Although I do derive pleasure and satisfaction from helping prepare youngsters to take their first steps out into the world, I have always believed that I could – and should – do something more with my life. It feels like there’s another personality living within me, but who lacks a voice.

I’ll admit it…I’m a writer living in a Childcare Provider’s body.

The Road Less Traveled
Written by Gina Blitstein on Friday, 05 September 2008

the road less travelledThree years ago my husband did the bravest thing I have ever known: He quit his job.

Not just any job. A good job with a fine salary and remarkable benefits.

Had he not made the brave move to quit, I am quite convinced that I would be a widow today. The stress of his job was killing him. His emotional state and health were deteriorating on a daily basis.
